India's First Pneumatic Assisted Sludge Evacuation Machine
Certified by IIT Delhi and National Physical Laboratory

Indigenously developed Sludge Evacuation Machine for Indian Railways’ bio-digester chambers, engineered through detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to ensure uninterrupted sludge removal.

Smarter Biodigester Cleaning Without Disrupting Bacterial Colonies

चक्र मार्जक™ is an indigenously developed pneumatic-assisted, vacuum-based solid–liquid evacuation system designed for the efficient removal of heterogeneous, non-biodegradable waste from bio-digester reservoirs in Indian Railways rolling stock.

Developed through extensive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of conventional Bio Tank Evacuation Machine limitations, Chakr Marjak uses advanced pneumatic-assisted technology to deliver clog-free operation, zero dependency on external power supply, and effective sludge evacuation while preserving the microbial ecosystem required for efficient waste decomposition.

Built for sustainable railway sanitation, Chakr Marjak features a lightweight, modular, and user-friendly design that reduces maintenance time, operational risks, and manual effort. It enables faster, safer, and environmentally responsible bio-digester maintenance, supporting reliable and modern railway sanitation operations.

SMARTER CLEANER, LESS EFFORT

Chakr Marjak delivers a smarter approach to bio-digester maintenance with no external power requirement, zero direct human contact with sludge, safe and hygienic cleaning. Its innovative design reduces operational downtime while ensuring sustainable and efficient sludge evacuation.

Smart Cleaning. Safe Biology.

Chakr Marjak follows a simple three-stage process to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable bio-digester maintenance

01

Extract

Pneumatic vacuum technology safely evacuates sludge, plastics, fibrous waste, and other blockages from the bio-digester chamber without manual handling.

01

02

Separate

A perforated sheet filtration system separates Non Biodegradable solid waste from the liquid Biodegradable fraction, ensuring effective sludge removal while preventing clogging.

02

03

Recirculate

The filtered liquid is recirculated back into the bio-digester, preserving beneficial microbial activity and maintaining efficient waste decomposition.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a pneumatic-assisted sludge evacuation machine?

A pneumatic-assisted sludge evacuation machine is a proven solution for removing sludge and non-degradable waste from the first chamber of railway bio-toilet tanks. Chakr Marjak operates on approximately 6 kg/cm² of compressed air to evacuate waste, separate non-degradable material, and recirculate the biodegradable waste back into the first chamber.

What types of waste can Chakr Marjak handle?

Chakr Marjak is designed to evacuate various non-biodegradable wastes such as diapers, sanitary pads, small plastic bottles, polythene, clothes, wrappers and other solid waste of approximately 8 mm and above.

Does Chakr Marjak clog like traditional pumps?

No. Unlike conventional sludge pumps that use mechanical parts such as rotary lobes to create suction, Chakr Marjak uses Venturi technology, with no mechanical pumping mechanism involved in suction generation. Since the waste does not pass through any rotating parts, the system offers clog-free operation.

Does Chakr Marjak require electricity

No, Chakr Marjak does not require an external electrical power supply while operating. It runs on the compressed-air supply available at the site. The rechargeable battery is used only for the control panel and typically needs charging after more than 200 tank operations.

Where is Chakr Marjak primarily used?

Chakr Marjak is designed mainly for first-chamber evacuation of bio-toilet tanks in railway coaches. It can be used at maintenance depots, coaching yards, pit lines, sick lines and other railway facilities. Its mobile, trolley-mounted design makes it easy to move between locations while evacuating waste and separating non-biodegradable materials during routine maintenance.

Why is Chakr Marjak preferred for railway bio-toilets?

Railway bio-toilets use beneficial bacteria (inoculum) to break down human waste, but non-degradable items like diapers, sanitary pads, plastics and polythene can enter the first chamber and need periodic removal. Chakr Marjak, certified by IIT Delhi and NPL, is specifically designed for first-chamber evacuation. Its portable trolley-mounted design, clog-free operation and compressed-air operation without external power make it a better alternative to conventional bio-Toilet evacuation machines.

Are a pneumatic-assisted sludge evacuation machine and a sludge dewatering machine the same?

No. Sludge evacuation and dewatering are different processes. Evacuation involves removing sludge, separating non-biodegradable waste, and recirculating inoculum-rich waste back into the chamber, while dewatering mainly removes water from sludge. Chakr Marjak is a pneumatic-assisted sludge evacuation system designed for efficient evacuation and maintenance of railway bio-toilet tanks.
